Have you ever gone for an afternoon drive in the country and the roads just kept going in all directions? You were perhaps intrigued and just ventured off to follow some of them to see where they would lead? Well, come along on my venture of exploration. For I am following a road of intrigue to see where it will lead.

Recently, I had the opportunity to "follow a new road" - a new direction in my life. Yet, it wasn't like it was new at all. It was like it was just waiting for me to take that step - to make that turn. My ultimate destination in this journey is a place called, "Success". What I discover along the way is still to be found, seen, and explored. The road may be bumpy at times, or it may be a freeway all the way. I expect to meet many other explorers along the way, because "Success" is a place that many elude to and want to find. Yet, many will fall by the wayside and many will take a wrong turn from those many forks in the road. Only a small percentage will eventually make it to "Success". Are you one of them? Do you know how to choose which road goes where? Do you have the "Road Map" to "Success"?

I have just started this particular journey, but what is different this time as I approach those forks in the roads, I now have a couple of mentors who have already traveled the roads and know how to direct me. For years I had wished for just that. And now, thanks to the Internet, I have made connections. And so... if these people are willing to help me; to direct me on which turns to take, doesn't it make sense to explore this new territory? And if you are serious about finding "Success", doesn't it make sense for you, as well, to join me in this journey? We will learn together.

I hear you saying, "What, pray tell, are you talking about?" :-) I am talking about "Opportunity". I am talking about Self Development and Self Improvement. I am talking about Motivation and Enthusiasm. I am talking about, the Secrets to finding the place called Success are really within us; within our hearts. For some of us, they - those Secrets within us - are screaming to be let out; to be unleashed; to be given the chance to help us be all that we can be. Will you listen to your own Secrets and aspire to take your God given rights to explore your talents, to go for your dreams, to never again settle for second best?

Life on this earth, God's first gift to us, is short at best. Remember that God first placed man and woman in the Garden of Eden. He truly wanted the very best for us. It is we who have not risen to His expectations. Yet, does He give up on us? No way. He's still in there rooting for us every second, every minute, every hour of every day, every week, every month, every year, for as long as we grace His earthly handiwork. And does He stop there? No... He prepared an even better place called Heaven for when we have completed our earthly journey. So if we have a God that cares so much for us, does it not make sense for us to utilize every talent that He so graciously bestowed upon us?

Think of it this way in earthly terms. If you filled your child's room with every conceivable toy you thought he or she wanted, yet your child showed no interest in playing with them, would you be concerned that your child lacked interest or motivation to explore all that the toys offered in way of enjoyment? Yet, we are given many tools and opportunities to explore, but often lack the interest or motivation to pursue our dreams and find our enjoyment.

The new direction in my life is simply to help you find your direction in life. The key is to reach deep within and open our hearts and minds to our own God given talents. To find the courage to "Stand Tall; Think Tall; Smile Tall; Live Tall. I Dare You". Those were the words of William H Danforth, Founder and Former Chairman of the Board, Ralston Purina Company way back a few generations ago. My mission is to encourage you to follow your dreams.

You may find that you have to sort through all of the fluff; all of the seemingly obvious options and distractions to find what you really dream about. Successful people will tell you that success is not about how much money you finally achieve, rather, success is finding your "passion". And strangely enough, it appears that finding your passion goes hand-in-hand with an enriched pocketbook.

Now, don't misunderstand me here, money is essential to each of us, and how much or how little of it we have dictates the necessities and pleasures in our lives. So what I believe the successful people are telling us is if your only focus is on attaining money, you may very well achieve that, but for true success, you will achieve both your passion and your monetary success.

To further explain, I have a simple little formula that I often use to sort through and decide just how much value I place on a particular dream or project. Since I am human just like the rest of you, my first thought of success, I admit, is making money - serious money - B R I N G I T O N - right? :-) But when I really want to get right down to the nitty-gritty of importance, here is my deciding question. "If I were to suddenly come into all of the money I need or want, to have whatever I want, what am I doing now that I would still want to pursue?" That question helps me put things into perspective and order of importance. It boils "things" down to "what is my passion"? I find that I really can answer that rather quickly and with conviction. I want to publish my books that I've already written. I want to continue my writings and publications. I want to help others with my ideals and messages gained from experience. I want to help others attain their passions and find success. I want to make a difference, to touch lives in a positive way, to know that I have given joy, comfort, a ray of hope, and encouragement to all I meet to stretch for a better way, to aspire to their dreams, and to never, never, ever give up.

And so, as I pursue this new direction of mine, as Author, Publisher, Motivational Mentor, I challenge you to focus on your dreams. I Dare You to Find Success. It is a place. It is in your heart.

"Become an Information filter and a Knowledge Sponge"*

As the title states, "Become an Information filter and a knowledge Sponge." On your daily journey to achieve your WHY, you will travel through many different avenues and sometimes you will ask yourself, "Why do I need to meet this person or experience this situation?" The key is to truly understand that you must become an information filter and use your personal God-given filters - your eyes and your ears. I always say that you were born with 4 inputs (2 eyes, 2 ears) and 1 output (mouth).

When you decide to become a filter and filter through all the information that is taken in through your inputs, you will begin to find answers to the reasons for certain experiences in your life. What you learn from each situation that you experience will be the foundation for future decisions. My personal view is that "every failure is a stepping stone to success, which in turn will become a very long and lovely stone walkway into the castle of your dreams." Very simply, this quote means out of every failure you will filter information that will empower you to make wiser decisions based on information you learned from your personal failures!

As you begin to realize you must become a filter - listen and observe more than you talk, you will be amazed at the insight you gain. When you combine becoming a knowledge sponge, along with being a filter, you will empower yourself to achieve your WHY! Becoming a knowledge sponge is very simple. You must immerse yourself in the knowledge of the #1 people in your field of endeavor. When I first became a distributor in a direct sales organization, I simply did some research and found out what the #1 earners in direct sales/network marketing were doing. As I result, I broke all records and built enormous sales organizations. I was nothing special, but the methods I used were special because they were proven to work. Remember, the smartest people are those that realize they are not the brightest or the best.

Each day that you embark upon your journey toward your Why, you need to be constantly absorbing as much information as possible. Success leaves clues, and usually it is a long list of failures accompanied with one major success. I can tell you that if you have failed in the past and right now are questioning your actions, just become an information filter and knowledge sponge. Start to utilize your four inputs and before you know it, you will hit the mark and succeed! I highly suggest listening to positive personal development tapes and reading some positive material EACH AND EVERY DAY in order to saturate your sponge with the proper knowledge!
